Don't Panic!

Do you ever get to the end of a homeschool year and start to panic? Do you start to doubt how purposeful and productive your homeschool time has been? Pause and breath. We've all been there. I guarantee that when you take some time to reflect on all that has happened in your family's learning and growing journey so far this year, you'll see growth.

Growth should be the aim, not perfection. Did you finish that curriculum? Yes? Excellent! Congratulations! No? That's ok! Take the time you need. Did you read any good books together or independently? How many places did you visit and spend time exploring? How many questions did your children ask? How many times did your kids launch into their own discovery time to satisfy curiosity about various topics? Did y'all bake, play, create, build, invent? Did your child overcome something? Did your children serve or volunteer? Did y'all volunteer as a family? Were your kids part of groups, co-ops, church, sports, clubs? Did y'all do positive things for your community? Did they grow in their giftings and talents? Did they start a business? What changes have you seen in their intellectual, spiritual, physical, and mental health?
In the lives of homeschoolers there are so many ways to gauge growth and what it means to have a successful year. My encouragement to you is this: pause, pray, reflect, take notes. I trust that you'll find so many wonderful wins.
You feel a little better now, right? Jot down those wins and celebrate another year living and learning with your children. Time together is precious...even when there are challenges. You will never regret the time you pour into your family and the memories you'll make along the way. What an incredible gift. May God bless you and your family.
With Love,
Cara
